Terms of use

A plain-language summary of how betterkvm is licensed and used. The formal license agreement ships with the software.

License

The free tier is licensed for personal use on up to two machines. Standard and Professional are one-time, perpetual licenses covering the machine count listed at purchase, and include one year of updates and support. Licenses are issued per network / group, not per individual user seat.

What you can do

  • Install and run betterkvm on the machines covered by your license.
  • Use it for personal or, on a paid license, commercial work.
  • Keep using the version you bought for as long as you like — it's a perpetual license.

What you can't do

  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute betterkvm as your own product.
  • Circumvent license limits or remove licensing and attribution notices.
  • Reverse-engineer the software except where that right cannot be waived by law.

No warranty

betterkvm is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from its use. You are responsible for the security of the networks you run it on — in particular, setting a shared password to enable encryption.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new date below. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
